Web Video Production

Marketing on websites over the last few years has become more powerful and effective than on television. Use of  web videos makes the audience stay on the website for longer than they usually would. Video presentation increases visitors times and reduces exit rates. In 2008 the Internet went past television in terms of advertising. Marketers where seeing that more people were using the Internet for information, and they wanted to get their products on these popular websites. Websites are mostly using a web presenter to keep the audience interested so that they would not click straight off the website. The online presenter may only last about a minute but it is a minute longer than they usually would and ore time for browsers to notice products.

The Internet has grown rapidly over the years because you can get instant information about any topic. Sites like Wikipedia allow browsers to look up anything and pages come through about the topic. Advertisers target these kinds of websites because they n users will spend a greater amount of time on the website. Ads are shown at the end of videos. Also the adverts would relate to the topic the users are reading about, for example if I searched football adverts to do with football like tickets and equipment could be shown. video in emails is already starting to happen as a way to increase click through.

Also trafficking is common on the Web where you click one website, and it takes you to another site. Things like this get annoying on the Internet but this is what it is becoming, just a massive way for revenues to get their products out there to the people.

Face Book has become one of the most popular social networking websites out there, and is making a lot of money from advertisers. The marketers know the majority of people that use Face Book are teenagers and young adults so they know the kind of stuff to advertise on there. Also on people’s home page they advertise products that relate to people interest and personality.

It is the same with the online video sharing website You Tube. When people are watching videos on You Tube adverts are on the side of the screen so advertisers now that people spend a bit of time on videos so there is more time for their products to get noticed. video ads are served to targeted video.

The internet has become the main source for advertising and it is predicted to stay that way in the future.

Virtual Presenters

The use of video on websites has many positive effects on people who become interactive with the website. Websites that use web video production include, YouTube, Face Book, MySpace, E4, 4od etc. the way in which the video’s connect with the audiences are on many levels as the viewers can have a visual on things that they properly wouldn’t bother to read about.

The internet communicates on several levels which are audio and visual.

With the internet becoming very popular and people relying on information on the internet, audiences will look for a specific type of information that they will be able to understand and connect with, the most popular source of information is video based.

When people are given the chance to either read or watch something giving out information on the internet, people are more likely to prefer to watch a video presenters. Todays browsers are of the TV era and they are simply more conditioned to watch than read.

To advertise products to the correct audiences, institutions will place their product on specific websites such as, Face book, as Face book allows advertising at the side of the welcome home page to every individual member.

Another very successful way to advertise a product is to use a presenter to encourage people, this can be evidenced on websites such as homepages to internet services i.e. SKY, MSN etc. on these particular pages I found a detailed advertisement advertising “weight loss products” within this advertisement a woman is shown before and after in a bikini, with her discussing how the product worked for her and giving people details of how to use the product. By being able to see and hear positive feedback about a certain product convinces people to believe in the product.

Audiences need information to be laid out for them in the ways that they will want to watch it, if the information they are looking for is not set out in a specific way (Text, Video’s etc) they will immediately leave the website and look else where.

Certain websites only give out specific ways of presenting information, some are completely text based, video based or they could be a mixture of both.

By choosing to present information in popular, understanding and more interesting ways for audiences then the website will receive more hits and become popular for the information that they give out to audiences.

YouTube is a website that offers millions of video’s that can be easily found in the search engine, when logging into You tube it immediately gives you things that you may like to watch on the basis of videos you have already viewed. Its easy to find content on Youtube as they suggest videos that match video content you already have viewed. You tube is a very reliable website to find information by video.

The internet overall generates information in many ways. As people rely on the internet for information, it is very important that the popular and not so popular websites keep up to date with how information should be presented to audiences as this will have a huge impact on the views that the website receive.

Why Video Is Taking Over The Internet

online presenter

Websites use active animation on there homepages to simply keep people interested, this can prove very positive and will hold the attention of the viewer through interactivity. Most web sites now days use some kind of interaction. The internet was created to house all the information in the world and with more being added every day searching for one thing among this massive library can be a very boring and long process so things like banners and hosts are used.

If a site was to have huge blocks of text you would quickly loose interest, but if say a virtual presenter pops up when you log on you are more in cline to pay attention, especially if web presenter is representing the site; for example a cosmetic company could use a ‘perfect’ woman to lure viewers in to thinking they could also look like this, this could count as a demonstration. Internet based companies like ‘Skype’ and ‘MSN’ use virtual presenters, they accompany you through installing there software on to your system.

It doesn’t have to be as sophisticated as a web presenters it can be banners at the sides, above or below. These while faster can be just as effective if used in the right way; for example on ‘Gametrailers.com’ they use banners to advertise online games or up and coming releases. If you were to use the banner on say a sport website.com’ they wouldn’t be reaching the target audience making them useless.

Social networking sites like Face book and MySpace use both use banners and presenters to target their audience. On Face Book there are usually ads all over the page, advertising things like online games or ‘Trace your family tree’. The growing popularity in interactivity among online companies is leading to more advertises using the wed instead of TV, this is increasing the audience for the net thus increasing revenue, while decreasing the audience for TV.
